One of the many things we did to prepare for the Amsterdam to Athens tour was listen to a ton of podcasts. In particular the Cycling Europe Podcast hosted by Andrew Sykes.

Andrew is a writer, cyclist, speaker and teacher. He is the author of several books to include Spain to Norway on a Bike Called Reggie (how does that sound for an epic adventure).

Andrew’s podcasts include interviews, monologues, and stories of bike touring. He occasionally tosses in some very cool history regarding the bicycle. And most recently recorded Le Grand Tour where he shares his 2022 tour through the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Germany.

Side note, our paths almost crossed as Andrew finished his Grand Tour near the hook of Holland the day before we started our tour less than 65 kilometers away in Schiphol.

When we were asked to accompany friends on an epic adventure, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Join us as we discuss our 52-day trek across Europe with Andrew.

Our sincere thanks to Andrew for his professional recording and interviewing skills.

An additional thank you to our mentors Pam and Ralph. May our paths cross again one day — on a bike tour — epic or not.
